Forensic Investigations and Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. (“FICS”, “Forensic Services India”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit forensicservicesindia.com or contact us, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to reflect the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. Who we are
FICS is an ISO 9001:2015 certified forensic investigation and consultancy firm with offices in Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and Jaipur (Rajasthan). For the purposes of data protection law, FICS is the “Data Fiduciary” for personal data collected through this website.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in our contact form, email us, call us or message us on WhatsApp, we collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. Our contact form does not store your details on this website: it opens WhatsApp with your details filled in, and your message reaches us only when you send it from WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.
Information shared during an engagement. If you instruct us on a matter, you may share documents, devices, digital evidence or other case material. This is handled under a separate written engagement agreement and our confidentiality and chain-of-custody procedures, in addition to this policy.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data when pages are requested — for example IP address, browser type, the pages visited and the time of the visit. We use this only to keep the website secure and working. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
Third-party content. Some pages include content from other services, such as an embedded Google Map on our Contact page or YouTube videos you choose to play. Those services may collect data under their own policies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the information or quotation you asked for.
- To deliver, manage and invoice services you engage us for.
- To keep our website secure and to detect and prevent misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders and requests from lawful authorities.
- With your consent, to send you updates about our services, articles or workshops. You can opt out at any time.
4. Consent and lawful use
We process personal data with your consent — for example when you submit an enquiry — or for other legitimate uses permitted by law, such as complying with a legal obligation or responding to a court order. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
6. Confidentiality of case material
Investigation material is handled on a strict need-to-know basis. Evidence is preserved and documented under a chain of custody so that it remains admissible, and access is limited to the team working on the matter. Please do not send sensitive evidence through the website contact form — we will arrange a secure way to receive it once an engagement is agreed.
7. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and engagement records for as long as required by our agreement with you, professional obligations and applicable law (including limitation periods and tax rules). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.
8. How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including access controls, encrypted transfer (HTTPS) and confidentiality commitments from staff — to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires it.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate data.
- Ask us to erase data that is no longer needed, unless we must keep it by law.
- Withdraw consent you have given.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@forensicservicesindia.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Children's data
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 through it. Our cyber-safety workshops for schools are arranged with the institution, and any participant data is handled with the consent of the institution and parents or guardians as required by law.
11. Links to other websites
Our website may link to other sites, including WhatsApp, social networks and external articles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
